Art in General.
79 Walker St New York, NY
September 2012 - December 2012
Conceived as a reflexive foil to robbinschilds’ four-channel video installation, I came here on my own., the live iteration of their commission takes into examination robbinschilds’ separate but intertwined identities as longtime collaborators. Running approximately 65 minutes, the performance ravels a meta-journey through the artists’ own non-linear creative process through a layering of text, projection and choreography. Joined by performers Aretha Aoki and Vanessa Anspaugh with an original sound score by A.V. Linton and lighting design by Megan Byrne. Visit artingeneral.org for additional information and to purchase tickets.

Constructions I-IV

deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum
Lincoln, Massachusetts
September 18–December 31, 2011
Four new commissioned works for video as part of Temporary Structures: Performing Architecture in Contemporary Art. robbinschilds created site-reactive videos/movement pieces, Constructions I-IV, in response to the deCordova Museum building's character and form – itself a strange hybrid of old and new architecture. As such, the building became their score as they created specific choreography for three particular spaces: the large, open Linde Gallery; the book-lined Museum library; and a small, well-lit window gallery at the end of the fourth-floor hallway. decordova.org
